Not liking to classify jazz too much into categories - let's just say this is fun and IT SWINGS - It's music to everyone's ears! ....

Formed in 1989 The Bandits' reputation quickly spread across East Anglia as the band played more and more bookings - to include appearances at clubs, concerts, festivals, conventions, riverboat shuffles, fetes, BBQ's, summer balls, stately homes, holiday centres and a sea cruise! ....

The band ranges in size from a quartet to a 7-piece, to suit the venue being played. DIXIE JAZZ BANDITS' sessions offer great foot-tapping entertainment - with the added attraction of MARY LOU LAMBERT on vocals. Mary Lou has a pleasing laid back style, she has been featured several times on BBC Radio Suffolk, and is now in demand for solo appearances as well as with her own quartet, formed in 1995 ....

The band style is versatile - with a repertoire including stomps, blues and marches from New Orleans, Hot music from Chicago, and a range of the wonderful songs from the golden days of the 30's ....

THE DIXIE JAZZ BANDITS are available to play at your Promotion, Dance, Club, Party, Festival, Fete or Carnival - in fact any function that needs 'jazzing up' ....
